Experiential Learning Projects: Engaging First and Second Year Principles of Marketing Students

Experiential learning projects provide students with practical opportunities to apply theory, but are typically implemented in upper-level courses. This paper explores the impact of two experiential on first and second-year Principles Marketing at a small private business college New England. Projects involved partnerships external clients, providing opportunity explore concepts beyond classroom. Findings suggest value implementing early student’s collegiate tenure six themes emerging from these experiences. The salient include increased engagement, intellectual challenge, student centered environment, link theory practice, personal pride & teamwork, professional development.
